Frikkie Befrikte Vinnige Aandetes

Exciting stuff happening in the Frikkie Awesome kitchen! Shit is going DOWN!!! We are adding a new addition to our recipe section:  'Frikkie Befrikte Vinnige Aandetes'. This section will feature quick meal recipes to fit the 8-5 lifestyle we all (unfortunately) have to live.

Quick Roast Chicken Pieces

What you need:

• 1 Onion - cut into quarters
• 6-8 Chicken pieces - drumsticks or thighs or other pieces
• a few pieces of sliced butternut
• Salt and pepper to taste
• a hand full of Thyme
• ¾ Packet white onion soup powder/ or any soup powder you prefer like cream of mushroom or brown onion
• 150-200ml Water
• 250ml Chutney
• 2 or 3 squirts Mayo

  Ready in 6 easy steps!

1. Preheat the oven to 180'C.
2. Place the onions and butternut in an oven dish and arrange the chicken pieces on top, season with thyme and salt and pepper to taste.
3. Mix the soup powder with the water until smooth, stir in the chutney and mayo, pour the sauce evenly over the chicken and cover with a lid or foil and place in the preheated oven and roast for 40 minutes.
4. Pour yourself a glass or JUG of wine and relax outside and forget about your day. 
5. Remove the lid or foil after 40 minutes and roast for another 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked.
6. Served with a starch of your choice and enjoy the fruits (chicken) of your labour!!! 

Weekend Vibes!

Whasssuuup!! So... It's the weekend. FINALLY!! After a long, hard week, what better way to cheer yourself up than plan for the weekend aheads activities... So we have 4 different thangs for everyone to check out this weekend.. Boom!

The first two take place tonight, and they are the Hotboxfoam party which takes place at Hotbox studios in P-Town, so if you're in the mood for cheap booze and more foam than a two year olds bath, then head on over there!! For those that prefer a drier Friday evening, why not head on down to Arcade Empire for Shadowclub, Southern Gypsy Queen and 7th Son, this is bound to be a great show!!

Saturday's line up includes the now popular Neighbourgoods Market in Braamfontein, Joy-Burg. Pull in there for tasty treats, some chilli tequila and great shopping! Not to be missed if you're in Gauteng! P.S a little bird tells us that our friend LO, will be having a MASSIVE sale... Ladies... Do yourselves a favour and get there.. You will not be disappointed!!

We're stuck on Mikado!

So to get the year off to a sweet  start, we thought we'd share this AWESOME little company with you... MIKADO.

Basically, Mikado is a company made up of  two super creative sisters, one of which we have featured as a Frikkie Cool Creative! Maaike and Benieke team up to bring you wallpaper, vinyl wall decals as well as wrapping paper all made with a bit of love, a sprinkling of joy and the coolest of details.

Hallo 2012

Wat Pomp julle?!?!?! Yes we know its been 2012 for 25 days already but with holiday emptiness and back to work dreadfulness it's taken us a bit of time to get back into the swing of things!
